The Magic of the "D" Bowl: Love in Hospice Care

The “D” bowl in the system I use for healing with Tibetan singing bowls is the heart bowl. She is a powerful, profound lady. I learned this firsthand.
The day my grandfather passed, I drove all the way to Brooklyn to grab clothing & toiletries, but also because something told me I REALLY needed to go get one of my bowls. I stood in my apartment and knew, this D bowl was the one I would bring with me to play for Opa, because it radiates pure love. I sweated through traffic in New York and finally made it back to his room in his assisted living that day in the late afternoon with my bowl. The family had gone downstairs for a break, so Opa and I had the room alone. He was lying peacefully in bed, sleeping. I swept the room with my D bowl to clear the space. I said in my mind, “May Karl be wrapped in a blanket of love. May he know he is loved, protected and safe.” I repeated this over and over as I swept the room and all around his body. I didn’t think much of this; it just felt intuitively like it was needed. Minutes later, the family came back in the room, and our moment together was done. Opa was uncomfortable, breathing heavily. I rubbed his heart and said, Opa, we are all here today. We love you.” He sunk back into breathing softly. His body seemed to sigh with relief. Just hours later, he passed on.
It might sound crazy to some, but I know deep in my heart that D bowl helped allow him to pass on so he could relax enough to hear my words and feel our presence in the room. The man was a giant, strong, steadfast German man. All of us thought he would hold on for a LONG time before passing, and I think he was going to... until that D bowl said to him, “Karl, it’s okay to go now. You are safe.” I share this because time after time again, these bowls truly surprise me with how powerful they are. I’m always just sitting back in awe, watching and listening. They remind me that there is so much infinite power and possibility beyond us, and the bowls can be such a profound vessel for that power. Sending you all the love in the world from myself, my D Bowl babe and the infinite universe ❤️
